Cassandra Integration

The Cassandra integration enables Atatus to collect real-time metrics and logs from your Cassandra nodes using JMX-based monitoring. Use this integration to:

Monitor Cassandra cluster health and node status
Track read/write performance and latency
Detect failovers and cluster instability
Observe JVM and storage-level metrics
Correlate logs with infrastructure metrics

All metrics collected through this integration are treated as custom metrics.

Setup

No installation is required, the Cassandra integration is bundled with the Atatus Infrastructure Agent.
Follow the steps below to configure metrics collection.

It is recommended to use Oracle JDK when running Cassandra for optimal JMX compatibility.

Configuration

Add the following configuration to /etc/atatus-infra-agent/conf.d/cassandra.d/cassandra.yaml

  - hosts: ["127.0.0.1"]             # JMX host (e.g., "127.0.0.1" )
    port: <PORT>                  # JMX port (default: 7199)

    cassandra:
      name: "<INSTANCE_NAME>"         # Logical name for this Cassandra instance (e.g., "cassandra-prod")
      cassandra_aliasing: true        # Enables metric aliasing for better readability
      collect_default_metrics: true   # Collects standard Cassandra metrics
      new_gc_metrics: true            # Enables new-style JVM GC metrics (recommended)

After configuration, restart the Atatus Infrastructure Agent:
