CockroachDB Integration

The CockroachDB integration allows Atatus to collect native database metrics exposed through the built-in metrics endpoint. Use this integration to:

Collect CockroachDB performance and internal metrics
Monitor nodes, queries, KV operations, storage, Raft, and replication stats
Extend infrastructure visibility using CockroachDB’s Prometheus-compatible endpoint

All metrics collected through this integration are treated as custom metrics.

Setup

No installation is required, the CockroachDB integration is bundled with the Atatus Infrastructure Agent.
Follow the steps below to configure metrics collection.

Configuration

Add the following configuration to: /etc/atatus-infra-agent/conf.d/cockroachdb.d/cockroachdb.yaml

metrics:
  - hosts: ["localhost:8080"]        # CockroachDB HTTP endpoint
    metrics_path: /_status/vars      # CockroachDB metrics endpoint path
    enabled: true                    # set false to disable
    namespace: cockroachdb           # prefix added to all metrics

Verify Metrics

To verify metrics endpoint:

curl http://localhost:8080/_status/vars

Restart the Agent

After configuration, restart the Atatus Infrastructure Agent:

sudo service atatus-infra-agent restart
